I have been researching the history of 141RAC (The Buffs) for many years now and have built up a range of information that has proven to be useful helping answer questions from interested parties and relatives of the men who served in the regiment. The purpose of this page, therefore, is to provide a collated site for some of that generic information. One aspect I wanted to focus on in my research was to acknowledge the men who served, as part of that I have built up a mini database listing over 1600 names of men who, at some time or another, served in 141RAC during the war.

If your relative served with the regiment please do get in touch via the Contact page, there is so much more detailed information available on various aspects of the regiment, the vehicles and of the men's serivce.

Appeal for help - information in the USA:
After the surrender of Fort Montbarey, Brest in September 1944, the US Army interviewed several members of 141RAC to learn lessons from the action. One of the men interviewed was Capt Harry Cobden. His account, A Liberation of Brest, A Personal Account is held at the 29th Infantry Division archives at Verona, Virginia (29ID, Brest, Folder 12) If anyone living in the United States could visit the museum to take a copy of Capt Cobden's account, please contact me via the Contact page.
